Hakken means discovery

発見 — hakken — is the Japanese word for discovery. It is also what most courses quietly give up on: they are written for the average of everyone, so they fit no one. Too slow where you are strong, too fast where you are new, indifferent to how much time you actually have this week.

Hakken starts differently. It interviews you — in text, or out loud in a voice conversation — about what you want to learn, what you already know, and the time you can give. Then it builds a course that fits: your modules, your pace, your examples. As you work through lessons, pass checkpoints, or stumble, the course adapts. Where hearing matters, lessons speak; each module can become a two-host podcast episode for the commute.

Hakken is made by Eigenstack Pty Ltd (ACN 697 589 969) in Sydney, Australia. It is in open beta — seats open in small batches so the experience stays good for the people already in.
